How to get killer tones on your bedroom setup Posted on August 31st Comments Most of us spend a great deal of time playing guitar in either a bedroom or a small home recording studio. Limited space, grumpy neighbours and a patient family makes it hard to really crank that amp. Still, we all want a big and fat tone that has all the qualities of playing on a loud stack. My home recording studio is a typically bedroom-sized room equipped with a few low wattage amps. I have a couple of smaller tube amps that serve the purpose of both practice and recording although most of my live guitars are recorded in our rehearsal studio. So what is a big tone? What do we want to achieve on a smaller amp?

How do I connect the speakers?? help

Just what is tone? What is a good tone and how do you achieve it? Which amps you should choose for your setup and how to get the tones you want.

Jun 07,  · You can always connect your Dj devices to the computer and have the audio be played through the speakers connected to the computer. I have a ‘normal’ Yamaha DSP AZ2 Amplifier hooked up in my studio with 2 sets of speakers connected that gives me an excellent sound for listening and preparing my music.

Nov 03,  · Use the pre-amp out L/R to hook up the powered outputs are there to send a signal to a power amp or powered speakers. “DO NOT” hook up powered speakers to the main powered outs, they will blow.

Apr 10, , Your PC should have built-in “line-level” audio outputs. All you need is a 3. Another option is to use a coax or optical SPDIF connection if your on-board audio and amplifier have that. Check out this pyle mini amp. It should do the job. If the wattage isn’t high enough they make more powerful mini amps.

Okay, so you’re both saying that I don’t need a receiver, right?

Jul 18,  · I would probably be better off getting a seperate amp for the front speakers (Polk EXa’s) at circuit city and having them put it in, I probably will get them to hook up whatever amp I get.

It works fine right through the plastic dashboard. Unfortunately, this is a eBay listing so this link may eventually expire: The Pioneer supports two USB inputs. I should warn though that it was quite the pain to disassemble that cigarette lighter holder. After some minutes of use sometimes close to an hour , the Pioneer will report that the USB is disconnected and refuse to use it again until you power off the thing entirely for a moment.

Any attempt to zoom the map, takes you out of tracking your current position into a static view of the map. I contacted Pioneer and all I got from them is:

Tweet When it comes to volume, a speaker’s rated wattage is only part of the equation There seems to be some confusion when it comes to how “loud” an amplifier can get. When it comes to “volume,” many musicians only consider the amplifier’s power or wattage rating, and in general, more watts does mean “louder. Decibels and levels Decibels abbreviated “dB” are a logarithmic unit of measurement that pertain to a ratio between two numbers.

Okay, I can see eyes rolling and glazing over, so I’ll simplify things, and attempt to keep the “math” to an absolute minimum. With a logarithmic scale, you can’t just add numbers in the usual way—a doubled number isn’t “twice as much,” but rather, many times more. For example, dB is many times greater than 50dB, not just “twice as much.

If you have a car audio subwoofer that is not used in your car, you may want to install it in your home to enhance your home stereo or theatre system. This is a relatively easy task and does not require any special skills. Before attempting this install, be sure that you have some RCA wires, speaker wire, and the correct voltage power supply that the subwoofer needs.

After you have assembled these materials, you can then begin your installation procedures. Place your Tools The most basic step in any type of installation or repair job is to make sure that you have all of the tools you will need and put them in a position for easy access. In this case, you will need wire strippers, a flathead screwdriver, and the items listed above.

After tools are properly assembled, you are ready to begin. Place the Amp You should begin this process by placing your amplifier in the position that it will stay in. You will be attaching speaker wire and RCA cables and you need to get the distance correct before you begin cutting and stripping. A good rule of thumb is to measure the distance needed for the amplifier as well as your speakers and cut an extra twelve to eighteen inches more.

Installing the Power Supply It is now time to install your power supply. You will need to make sure that your power source can be plugged into a volt outlet, and the power can then be converted to twelve volts of direct current. To do this, you want to cut your speaker wire that will run from the positive and negative posts on your power source to the ground and positive post on the amplifier. You will connect the negative post on the power source to the ground on the amplifier and will connect positive posts together on both the power supply and the amplifier.

OSD Audio engineers get a little crazy when it comes to disguising speakers. We offer traditional box and omni speakers, but where it gets really fun is disguising them like rocks, planters, birdhouses, vases, and even speakers shaped like tree stumps. What are the benefits of using outdoor speakers? Since there are no walls to reflect sound, getting good sound in wide-open spaces can be tricky.

Unlike a controllable indoor space, there are no ceilings or walls to reflect sound. The great outdoors also comes with its own soundtrack in the form of wind, lawnmowers, barking dogs, etc. Good quality outdoor speakers are built with these factors in mind and include features that enhance sound quality such as high power handling and low frequency response for excellent bass. Most importantly, however, outdoor speakers are built tough and are tested under extreme weather conditions to ensure a long and happy life.

A good brand like OSD Audio will work under extreme temperatures, and our speakers are designed to protect the components against rain, snow, dust, dirt, creepy crawlers and other backyard and patio perils.
